Jamie Montague (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Luke McMahon (lead guitar/vocals) and Allan Hopkinson (percussion/vocals) formed a Country Organic band in January 2012. From Motherwell, Scotland, a town just outside Glasgow, all three members were involved in various music projects together for many years. Being in a rock band previous, they decided to start fresh taking a year out striping all their songs to bare acoustics, pointing the band in the right direction. Ferridy is built on strong and distinctive 3 way harmonies, simply hooky melodies and country and blues acoustic guitar.
What makes Ferridy different from other bands is they play in front of thousands of people every week as they take their music to the streets. The band are something different from the current indie and dance music that have been dominating most radio stations and are a breath of fresh air to passers-by.
The band writes songs collectively as a song writing trio, with everyone having a part to play in the process. Their music is full of energy, atmospheric and memorable, with many 'sing along' songs that their audiences have warmed to in past performances.
Now, with a small handful of demo recordings under their belt, the band aim to start the exciting prospect of layering their sound; introducing instruments such as the electric guitar and bass, followed by drums. Ferridy has an assured future.
