SoundCloud: Drew Jean

My name is Drew and I’m currently in University studying music and the industry. I’ve been singing since I could talk (cliche I know but it’s really true) and music is my passion.

I can harmonise on the spot and pick up melodies very fast. I would say singing is my strongest asset! And my favourite thing to do :)

I’ve been playing ukulele for nearly 2 years on and off and I’m moderately good. I’ve also been experimenting with different instruments in University. I played the drums for the first time there recently and I can hold a beat pretty well as I have good rhythm.

Influences

Singers like Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande influence me.

I also love singers like Adele and Alicia Keys.

I adore 80s music, it has a life that’s still going! The song “The Girl is Mine” by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney is a good example of the style I like.

I also love the music produced by Tame Impala. If you haven’t heard any then I strongly recommend, it’s a whole experience!

EQUIPMENT

I have an at home recording set up as well as production software on my mac.

My ukuleles are a concert electro- acoustic, a concert acoustic and a tenor acoustic and they’re all pretty good quality, they weren’t cheap! And I also have an electric guitar I’m planning on learning how to play!
