The Fascinators are a Glam-y, Punk-y hard rock/metal band based in London, we've in the past described ourselves as "Thrash Cabaret" as we take equal influence from classic rock and metal bands as we do from Cabaret, Drag and Burlesque performers.

We have one EP out already, with another close to being finished, as well as another batch of songs currently only in Demo form that we're keen to work on more. In the past we have also learnt a wealth of cover versions as we have performed as musical backing for various Burlesque and Drag performers.

Our long time drummer left us last month (on good terms I should add) and we are looking for a new, full time, committed and versatile drummer to fill those shoes! DEP/session players need not apply, nor hobbyists/bedroom players. And while we're at it; racists, misogynists, homophobic and transphobic people need not apply either.

Influences

We have two main sets of influences, one is our musical influences and the other are the things that influence us all creatively but not necessarily musically. We think of those as our conceptual influences.

Musical influences:

Metallica, Dresdon Dolls/Amanda f***king Palmer, Regina Spektor, Haken, System of a Down, Billy Talent, Frank Zappa, Queen, Devin Townsend/SYL, Post Modern Jukebox, Frost*... These are bands and musician's who inspire/have inspired us, they do not necessarily reflect the sound of the band.

Conceptual influences:

Cabaret, Burlesque, Drag, Rock n’ Roll Theatre, Shock Rock (GWAR, Alice Cooper, Kiss), Punk mentality/DIY, BDSM/Kink, Gender, Queerness.
