Schrodinger's Cat is a philosophical question used by quantum physicists (including Eistein) to illustrate the uncertainty in quantum physics. Schrodinger dreamed up a hypothetical scenario involving a cat in a closed box with a file of poison. The file would either break or not depending on some quantum event. The upshot is that the cat is actually neither alive nor dead until someone opens the box a takes a look. It is the act of observation that resolves the uncertainty about whether the cat is alive...

The parallel here is that I want people to come and listen to the demo and register their interest. If people like it then this project will live and progress. If not, it won't. So we could brand the whole thing around that basic appeal to people that if they want this project to survive and to hear more, they have to actively register their interest, tell their friends, spread the word (and hopefully buy the track...)

I wouldn't want to dwell too much on the intellectual side of it being about quantum physics though - that will just turn people off. A brief explanation should be enough to get the idea across that they have to actively register their interest if they want the project to survive.
