I'm an enthusiastic amateur flautist (play hours daily most days), emphasis on classical, particularly baroque, but I'd very much like to learn jazz and blues and hope that with the right friends around me this might be possible - I learn quickly, but find it difficult to approach this area on my own. (My partner is an ex-pro and a mine of information, but teaching me is a bit like a spouse teaching someone to drive - it all ends in tears!) I've given a couple of concerts for friends with a pianist friend. Would be interested in doing more of these, at private functions and perhaps for local associations, etc., but more than anything just want others to play with. Also Love Eastern (Japanese/Tibetan) meditative music and would be very interested in experimenting with sound as a state-producing tool.
I play a little piano and guitar but very rusty.
Would really like to get my partner involved too - he's getting back to music now his daughter's left home. Neither of us is looking for fame and fortune - we just want to enjoy playing music!
(P.S. I'm a very young 56)
Too many to mention
We have a large dedicated music room with computer software and recording facilities, plus a partner who understands and enjoys sound engineering (I'm trying to learn), a good piano, various electronic keyboards, guitars, Chinese flutes, etc. etc.
