Adam Smith is a London-Based professional Guitarist, Bassist and Keys player. Adam regularly performs professionally in live music venues across London and the UK. He has performed alongside West-End singers, Big Bands, Broadway stars, several prestigious popular music acts and for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He has played in West-End venues such as The Palace, The Duchess and The Bloomsbury as well as popular music venues including The Camden Roundhouse. Adam has a master's degree in advanced musical studies from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Adam specialises in rock, jazz, pop and musical theatre genres and has studied guitar performance under Nick Hollings (Clayson and the Argonauts, The Dumb Blondes, Boys From Brazil) after breifly studying the classical style under John Mitchell (The Royal College of Music).

Recent professional projects include: Lead guitar and Bass on 'Christmas in New York' with broadway star Eden Espinosa (The Palace Theatre, London and The Palace Theatre, Manchester), 'Tempting Fate' with Julie Atherton (The St. James Theatre, London), 'The Urdang Summer Show' (The Bloomsbury Theatre, London), 'Been on Broadway' (The Duchess Theatre, London), 'Spring Awakening' and 'Our House' (The Essex Theatre Group) and 'Spring Awakening' (BRIT School, London) 'The Velma Celli Show' (St James Theatre, London) and 'I do! I do!' (Riverside Studios, Hammersmith).

Adam was also the lead guitarist for the Royal Holloway Big Band 'Undergraduated' for two years and has been playing in function and cover bands for over five years.Prior to university, he performed in several party and cover bands and featured on both touch fm radio and BBC oxford radio as a singer/songwriter.

Adam has studied composition under Brian Lock ('The English Patient') and regularly composes music for a number of events, productions and independent films. His compositional style, although flexible, is largely influenced by electronica and ambient soundtrack music.

Adam's guitar playing is influenced by a range of guitarists such as Johnny Smith, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, Leo Brouwer, Pat Martino, Jimmy Page, Pat Metheny, Guthrie Govan, Alex Hutchings and Paul Gilbert.

EQUIPMENT

Adam uses Ibanez, Washburn, Fender and Santos Martinez guitars. For a live setting he mainly uses VOX amps with various effects pedals. For his bass setup, Adam uses a Fender American Special PJ Bass through various bass amplifiers. For keys Adam uses a Korg MicroKorg synth and a Yamaha PSR 290 keyboard.
