I'm a 36 year old guitarist looking to put together a blues-rock covers trio (may add keys at a later date, but let's keep it simple for now).
Due to my commitments at work, I'd be looking at 2 or 3 gigs every couple of months as I work shifts and so can't manage much more than that. I have a couple of guys who have contacts who are willing to promote me to venues they know, I just need to get a strong line-up together first. I'm going to be honest, because I have a stressful job, I'm very much looking for this to be my band, in that I'll be fronting it and numbers will have to suit my voice and style of playing. That said, I'm very much someone who works in a team and I wouldn't simply be intending to impose a set list or anything.
I have pro level gear and 20+ years of experience, will be honest, I've never fronted my own band before, but there's a first time for everything!! All I ask is that everyone takes it seriously and is professional in their approach to the band. Ultimately it's got to be fun or else what's the point!!
It ia obviously vital that you have your own transport...I don't have a PA yet, but I have a few mates we can potentially borrow off of or, worst case, we'd have to hire one until I can afford to invest in one outright.
