My name is Alex Tilley I am 16 years of age, I come from a small town in England called Westbury.
I started playing drums from the age of 10 when my dad used to teach me bits here and there when he wasn’t at work. As I grew up my passion for drums grew with me and now being 16 years of age, I want my future career to be a professional drummer. Throughout my slowly growing career I have had so many great opportunities from being taught by two amazing drum teachers To now getting into one of the UK’s best Iron Maiden tribute bands called Ed Force One : A Tribute To Iron Maiden, which is so cool as I love to play metal/heavy metal music and Iron Maiden are such a good band and Nicko Mcbrain is an outstanding drummer.
In the July of 2019 I went to Freddie Gee’s Drum Academy (George Fredricks) for a full week of being of being taught by some of the best drummers in the world such as Ash Soan, Craig Blundell, Steve White, Ian Matthews, Daisy Palmer. And many more. I was taught some amazing skills, techniques and exercises to apply to the kit.
On January the 4th I went for an audition at BIMM Bristol and it was successful, and I will be starting my diploma in September which is a 2 year course after that I will be doing the degree in professional musicianship (Drums).
I am endorsed by Soultone Cymbals in which I am delighted to be, their cymbals are high quality, have an amazing sound and are very durable.
Being a young drummer means that I would like to inspire other young drummers to go and play an instrument as a hobby or even go on and play it professionally.
