ABOUT

Exeter-based guitarist originally from Northern Ireland. Looking to get back into playing (either a casual jam or on a more regular basis) whether in a chamber choir, band, or ensemble set-up. Big factor for me is I really want to immerse myself in different genres that'll push me to add new colours to my playing palette. So open to learning and trying new genres. Have perfect pitch so that might be a plus!

VOX: Looking for singing teachers to get back into shape and improve vocal capacity
9 years of singing between various groups and chamber choirs including the following:
--Ulster Youth Training Choir (now National Youth Training Choir of Northern Ireland) 2012-2013: Tenor 2/Bass 1
--University of Exeter Singers 2015-2019: Tenor 2/Bass
Incl. multiple solo performances; tour of Amsterdam in 2017; multiple concerts and evensong performances, most notably participating with the English Touring Opera in Exeter Cathedral during their tour of Bach's 'St John's Passion.'
--Little Swig jazz band (Exeter) 2015-2017: A smaller ensemble shoot-off from the University Big Band. Mostly singing 'Real Book' standards in a chill environment with the occasional gig.

GENRES:
I'm open for discussion about it. I've played big-band music and sacred choir music before and I'd like to play whenever and whatever for guitar and voice--trying to open up to more Latin and funk--maybe even celtic.

At my core as a guitarist, I've gravitated towards the rock/metal spectrum. From the likes of more classic hard rock, to melodic rock/metal/AOR, to heavier subgenres (or groove, prog, power, maybe a bit of thrash or whichever one of the dozens of subgenres there may be)--but again, I want to expand on this.

Newton Faulkner (heard him before I ever heard Ed Sheeran--will always be the top ginger-haired acoustic guitarist in my books)
Shaman/Angra/Edu Falaschi/Sepultura/Andre Matos--gave me the biggest insight into incorporating Brazillian & Latin influences and rhythms into heavier music.
