I am already an established vocalist in an actively gigging band that do sea shanties and maritime folk and regularly perform at least 1 or twice a month and actively gig at local clubs and private events etc.
I have been trying to put together a folk/country/americana/southern rock type of band. So far we have Me on Vox, Paul on pedal steel and we had a few guitarists try out and a drummer but nothing has gelled yet. We are now Looking for a band to join that play this/similar genre. We also take modern songs and songs from other genre's and give them the "Country/Rock" treatment.
Both Paul and myself are committed and want to push on, however we have both considered slotting in with another band that are looking for a singer and pedal steel.

I would say influences for band music would be: Steve Earl, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cody Jinks, Jamey Johnson, The Outlaws, Blackberry Smoke, Aaron Lewis, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, John Anderson etc. Country, Americana, Southern Rock/Rock etc. However, I listen to all types/genres of music as well.
