Looking to join a metal band to help write, record and play the odd gig. I'm just as happy to take a passive role as much as contribute to writing. Like most people in their mid-thirties I have other commitments in my life and have long given up on living the life of a full time musician but I still love it and want to keep an element of it in my life, it's part of who I am.

Ideal band would be something that focused more creating great vocal-led tracks and less on the technical, showy side of guitar. As much as I love all that stuff, and can play to a reasonable technical level, it's not my forte and I prefer songs with rich, layered vocal melodies you can sing along to - a la Amaranthe, Scar Symmetry, Devin Townsend.

I've played guitar in several originals bands over the last 10 years notably Memoreve, Tempus Fusion and Tainted Grace.

I also play in a rock/pop covers band and more recently a funk band, something I've never done before but I have found I really enjoy.

EQUIPMENT

I pretty much exclusively play seven string guitars, main two being a Strandberg Prog and an Ibanez S7. My preference is for using live amps where possible but I most often use a POD HD which I find works well enough in most situations and is easy to cart around. I have my own transport but I find driving just gets in the way of having a couple of beers.
