SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Hi! I'm Ause, I'm a book publisher originally from Tipperary in Ireland and I've been living in London for three years now. I'm 30 years old, and I was in bands throughout my youth; I play a bunch of instruments (I'm a qualified piano teacher) but I particularly enjoy performing and being a leading vocalist. I love entertaining and interacting with audiences - I'm a total showman, having gone to university on an acting scholarship.
I've been wanting to get back into performing for a while now, and I think I'd be particularly suited to a wedding band, but I also love swing/big band music - I've got a similar voice and style to Michael Bublé. I'm primarily interested in cover music, but I can be flexible. I'd really just like to get back into the swing of things (no pun intended), and so I'm posting this for any bands that find themselves in need of an entertainer!
You can reach me via email on auseabdelhaq, or ausebraike on . I'm based in East London, but I can travel, and I'm more than happy to audition. Hope to hear from you soon!

Influences
Frank Sinatra (and the Rat Pack as a whole) is a huge influence on how I sing and how I perform, as well as Stevie Wonder but I love the narrative element of Johnny Cash's performing too, and I try to incorporate it as much as I can - I love getting the audience involved. I've got a wide musical taste; I'm probably most effective as a big band/swing vocalist, but I've also got experience in folk/country, classic rock and acoustic bands, and I've been performing in musical theatre for most of my life. My background in Ireland means I'm pretty good at adapting on the fly, having played in countless céilís, once I'm in practice. Personally, my favourite musicians (to listen to) are in the indie/folk genre: Fleet Foxes, the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons (and I'll hear no criticisms!) and their ilks.

EQUIPMENT
Myself! I own a lot of instruments, my primary ones being the piano/keys, the ukulele, the harmonica and the whistle, but I'm good at picking things up and I've got a good knowledge of musical theatre. Right now I'm mainly looking to join a band as a vocalist though, as I really miss performing and entertaining a crowd.
