I'm a classically trained fiddler who went to the dark side - Folk music 20 years ago. I'm generally a freelancer but do play regularly with a few local bands and I work with various singers putting fiddle on their original work. My kids are mostly grown now so I'm free to expand and explore music full time. I teach but only as a sideline aiming to keep the nxt generation of fiddlers coming into the world of music. I especially love to jump in with a band who don't necessarily want or need a fiddler as a permanent fixture, just for a specific number of gigs/festivals or recording. I am however looking for an acoustic guitarist /singer who is interested in working on reimagining songs/tunes and putting together original material, enough for 2 sets, for upcoming potential gigs. I want someone passionate about music, they don't have to be technically up there but work hard on their personal growth as a musician. I work hard to produce the best sound I can and have been called a bit obsessive often chasing that 1 note that can light up my musical fire.
Other than that I'm easy going, reliable and if you book me to play with your band I don't require months of practise, have a very quick ear(able to improvise and create fiddle lines that compliment and support your work, usually the Fiddle lines I put in can be reproduced after I'm gone by other instruments /lead guitarist's or I can notate the music for you if required) I memorise songs and rarely need to use music but can easily read music if required. If you think you'd like to jamm to see if we'd fit and have similar aims hunt me down on the old FakeBook. I know this is a long shot and long post but hey ho in for a penny in for a pound!

EQUIPMENT
Acoustic Violin, Electric Ted Brewer Violin (Crosbow style in clear acrylic with built in lights for more modern songs where a visual impact is important) Fishman pick up, acoustic violin mic, Fishman Preamp EQ, Roland amp, rechargeable stagg acoustic amp (rechargeable and the mains version), Fishman Loudbox mini. Various pedals but the main one is the Boss Harmonise that I use to create a deep cello sound or to create a harmonic string quartet backing)Lil Looper Vox that I use to put distortion and other effects onto the Fiddle sound - however I don't often use the Looper features for playing live with a band as timing because a bit of a nightmare, Boss WL-20 wireless system, DI Box, Viola, Mandolin, tenor Ukulele with fishman pick up and preamp installed. Bag full of shaky eggs tambourine and other assorted odds and sods)
