I'm a drummer looking to start playing some music with like minded musicians.
I'm interested in starting an instrumental project at this time, though vocalists could be incorporated at some point, if it worked.
I want to play motorik style rhythms over analogue sounding electronics / synth / unusual sounds / percussion. Think music / phrases built up in layers in the way Steve Reich composes, or the way electronic music is arranged. I'd also be interested in playing more ambient, hypnotic music, as well the higher tempo motorik stuff.
However, I'm also open to exploring and weaving around other genres or incorporating other ideas that you may have.
I like to play rhythms and temps that people will want to dance to.
I'm not the best, most technical drummer in the world, though I consider myself to have good feel, groove and taste.
I also play guitar, mainly as a compositional aid, and would want to be involved in the writing process.
