SEEKING

Band to Join.

ABOUT

I'm an experienced and creative bassist looking for my next band or project. I'd like it to be friendly and fun, with a serious level of focus & attention to the detail.

In the past I've been involved with bands mostly playing original songs, sometimes with a smattering of covers in the mix. I've also played my share of blues jams.
So for you songwriters, I'm happy creating lines for original material, with or without your guidance. And I'm also open to the fun of playing covers. The right focus for the right project.

Able to either rehearse or gig a few times a month. Availability is best on weekday evenings but usually able to mix it up when needed, and obviously up for weekend shows.

Previous band genres include:
- New-Wave/Post-Punk (think Costello)
- Folk-Rock (think Dylan);
- Country/blues;
- Classic '60s pop/rock/blues
- Live band backing for EDM, and a Cliff Richard cover!!
Among these, I recorded 2 focused studio albums as well as a couple of decent-sounding bedroom efforts; and various little spin-off projects over the years.

I also play harmonica, which I'm sometimes able to do at the same time as holding down the bass - just a little party trick I have, which enables another instrument in the mix if it's needed.

If you're not subscribed here, you can message me as Robin Hemmings on that zucky social platform used by people of a certain age; same profile pic as here, FB /robin.hemmings.9/
Or on Insta if you must, /hemmingsrobin/

EQUIPMENT

My main instruments are an Ibanez SGR 650 and a Danelectro 59DC, we're talking mid-range instruments here. Lovely ones, of course.

Having played in London mostly, I usually play at venues which provide backline and so haven't yet needed to buy a powerful amp. So for now I just have a portable Bass Cube, but for the right regular gigging band I'm open to expanding on that.

Numerous harmonicas, a full set in fact. Try to take them away from me and the puppy gets it.
