ABOUT

I'm a guitarist and a singer-songwriter. I write a lot of music. Most of it ends up as alternative folk and blues, but I don't really follow any genre rules. If the composition ends up sounding like a Muddy Waters riff set to a mixture of drum machines and a Tchaikovsky string arrangement, so be it. I can play cover songs if necessary, but I prefer not to. The goal is to get my own music out there.

Influences

Jimi Hendrix allegedly liked the sounds rubber bands made when he stretched them across his bed frame. I guess I'd like to think I think about sound in the same way. I listen to a lot of different stuff. Madonna, Christian rock, Abba cover bands, Soviet cartoon soundtracks; I'll play all of that over my speaker system without even a smidgen of shame. I'm sure my eclecticism explains why I like what I like and why I write what I write. More to the point, I'm inspired by artists such as Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, and Jeff Buckley. Did they influence me? I guess they did.
