Been giggin 30 years and although I've loved the majority of it, recently I've been getting a bit bored for playing the same old thing.
I've done the covers band pub/club thing but the money's not gone up in 20 years (got worse in a lot of places), the original music, EP - Tour - EP - Tour (repeat until burned out) thing, and the Tribute bands (which used to be good and pay well before every cover band, cottoned on the fact if you playing the music of one act you could double your money, or chased the money then find you're self play Bon Jovi every night, which is basically prostitution).
All of which has left me with tendon damage in my hands and turned me in to a right cynical old git!
So I'm looking for a some collaboration and inspiration.
I'll play owt! I started on the guitar, but as I say I've damaged my tendons so Satiani sweep picking is sadly in the past, spend the last 10 years on bass, being playing some live keys recently and just about hold things together on a kit...... sing like Bob Dylan going down on a Cat tho!
I also fancy doing a bit of instrument swapping on different songs, kind of inspired by Katzenjammer, although I appreciate they are 4 foxy Scandinavian chicks and I'm a fat northern bloke so it might not have a same appeal.
Or even stripping it all back and playing a mix of Ac Guitar, Bass, Bouzouki and Mandolin, with percussion and maybe a bit of organ/piano thrown in.
I've a full setup in my own unit ready to go
Not started anything from scratch, in a very long time so not sure what I'm looking to achieve, but just looking to be inspired.
