I am a Bristol University student studying philosophy and I play the drums! I am 20 and have been playing for around 8 years now, and enjoy playing anything from rock, ska, blues, and a little bit of funk. I have been fortunate enough to play some gigs, including some in Camden, and I am playing Dingwalls with a singer/songwriter friend of mine in April. It would be a privilege to find other Bristol-based musicians to play with whilst I am at uni.

Influences
A big influence when I was growing up was Radiohead, as cliche as that is. Phil Selway is an incredibly controlled and disciplined drummer, and his playing encouraged me to try and tone down my drumming and allow my position to be in support of the rest of the band. Other influences include The Specials, Animal Collective, punk bands such as pissed jeans and IDLES, and especially Thee Oh Sees (I find myself coming back to them often). Of course, my drum teacher Michele was my biggest influence in getting into drums in the first place, and over many years she taught me how to not only become a better drummer in a technical sense, but also how to truly be in the pocket, and truly emphasized that it's not all to do with chops.
