Chris Ross, experienced and formally educated bassist. 4 & 5 string fretted & fretless basses, with rhythm guitar as a secondary instrument. available for sessions / gigs / deps in Cambridge, Bristol, East Anglia, South of England. Will travel.
Enjoy playing all styles of music: lounge, rock, funk, folk whatever. Whether you're looking for a bass player for a blues gig, Led Zeppelin tribute or even just an advertising jingle about toilet paper.
Studied three years Jazz and Popular Music course specialising in bass guitar at Goldsmiths College; took evening classes in guitar at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford; studied bass privately with the great Yolanda Charles and most recently guitar with Mike Goodman.
I also do live sound engineering / provide PA for other acts and venues on request. Events at which I've done sound engineering include Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party, Twinwood Festival, Weyfest, Nene Valley Rock Festival, Cambridge Rock Festival and many more.
