Vocalist (+ samples/keyboards) and guitarist (+ backing vocals/various noise devices) looking for bassist and drummer to start a genre-bending experimental / avant-garde rock / metal band/
We are aiming for something heavy, noisy, surreal and absurd, with unpredictable songs and the most bizarre live show that has ever passed through town.
We have a few recorded tracks which are vaguely indicative of where we’d like to head, happy to share them with the caveat that they are far from finished products and barely scratch the surface of what we want to do.
We are both in our mid-30s and have our own gear, your age does not matter but your maturity and reliability do. Our preferred practice location is the Rock’n’Roll Circus but we can be flexible.
Bass player and drummer are the core members that we are looking for right now, but we are open to a wider line-up.
Message me here or on 07865 925715.

Sleep for a Day
Sleep for a Day Track number: 1 Genre: Other
The basic idea is that I will layer up a couple of vocal tracks (via looper) and we’ll have a steady beat in the background. David is playing a mandolin on this recording. The song wants to build up and it was deliberately left empty so that we can all play with it. Plenty of space to do all sorts of things. I do think I’ll want to bring in a few samples mangled in the background. Please ignore the bass! I just placed a couple of token notes repeating through the track! I do think there is space for something weird and interesting there.

Immortal
Immortal Track number: 2 Genre: Other
As it is, this one is supposed to go creepy, then fast and angry, then super creepy and demented. Once again, here the bass is something very “traditional”, not at all what we are looking for. Since Josh (drummer) joined, we have added another verse and a reggae breakdown. The creepy bits could be creepier and the heavy bits could be heavier. And the outro can definitely go further than that.

Let It Be (The Movie)
Let It Be (The Movie) Track number: 3 Genre: Other
It uses the weird amp noise that Dave sampled and goes into some Jesus-Lizardy type of riff. I like the overall vibe and I look forward to working on it. I am now singing in the parts without guitar. The song could still go in a whole number of directions, we are currently working on it. At the moment it just repeats its parts a few times.

Dead People
Dead People Track number: 4
A lot of this song revolves around a chord repeated over and over through a looper going into something more aggressive. It goes mellow psychedelic and it goes heavy. There is plenty of space to go wide and ambienty in the middle, building layers and walls of noise. We have been jamming it and trying to figure out how to get it live-ready. My vocals in the middle section are awful right now. The plan is to put them through an effect will make them sound like a guitar through a crybaby. I have not managed to get that sorted yet! The keyboard in the outro is also somewhat off. I think I’ll want to do something noisy and messy with the Monotron instead.

Cheap yet Sublime
Cheap yet Sublime Track number: 5 Genre: Other
This is the first track we worked on. It starts as a surf punk song, goes into something weird (that we are now developing further) and then ends heavy. I like the musical themes in there, but it would be fun to jam around it. As mentioned before, variety is something I really care about for this project.

Her Resolution
Her Resolution Track number: 6 Genre: Other
No guitar has been recorded for this yet, but Dave has written a ska bit for the punky part and has some farty guitar sounds for the chorus. The vocals are completely dry and unmixed! I am not going to be offended if you decide to throw away every bass note written (I almost encourage you to do so). The only thing I'm attached to is that in the verse I want to feel suave. As long as you make me feel smooth and sexy, anything will be good.
