ABOUT

An established a cappella group, ‘the Roaring Trowmen' www.roaringtrowmen.co.uk are hearty men from Bristol who sing sea shanties and songs of the salty deep with passion, power, humour and glorious harmonies. We spent 4 years developing a national (and small international) reputation and fan-base, performing at many varied venues including large folk/shanty festivals, but due to recent departures need some new recruits.
Requirements? Good strong voice, can hold a part in harmony with others, love of sea shanties and beer, a confident stage presence and an utterly childish sense of humour. You’ll need to be in or close to Bristol for weekly rehearsals and able to take reasonably regular weekends away for gigs. Check out our website to get a flavour for what we’re all about. So if you have you ever hankered after belting out a few shanties in a testosterone-fuelled harmonising haze, get in touch!!
