I am looking for 1) good band to play with, 2) recording work (my hourly rate is £15 at the moment!) and 3) more drum students (I teach drums: www.richardhemmings.co.uk/drums.html)
I've been playing the drums for many years. I'm competent in most genres, but prefer to play/improvise in a jazz/rock/ funk style. I can read music or play by ear, and I can pick things up pretty quickly. I've got lots of live and studio experience. I like to play music that's fairly open to improvisation and that which allows me get in 'the zone' (which is when I tend to feel most connected to the music). I also like to play quite complicated music but would be happy to join a good cover band that plays interesting stuff.

Influences
Please don't take this an indication of the type of band I want to join!
Hendrix, Zappa, Mr Bungle, Fantomas (anything by Mike Patton really), Talking Heads, Blur, Captain Beefheart, Funkadelic, Kate Bush, Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Theolonius Monk, Queen, Sex Pistols, Duke Ellington, Derek Bailey, Stravinsky, Varese, The Nightingales, Evil Dick & the Banned Members.
EQUIPMENT
For recording and big venue work I use a Sonor SQ2 6 piece kit, a mixture of Zildjian Custom A cymbals and K Constantinople.
For small venues I use a 4 piece jellybean sparkle Highwood kit (which looks awesome) and Istanbul cymbals or whatever I feel like using.
