ABOUT

I've mainly been a solo home studio musician for many years, recorded and released an independent album 'One Way Ticket' in 2006. I write my own material, sing and play guitar and a little piano/keyboards, bass, etc...

Looking for musicians to create a band or duo with centred around my original songs to record together from home studio and start out playing live on the streets, small unusual places, etc and then build it from there. So bass, drums, keys, backing vocals, especially female as I've sang in a male/female harmony situation before and really enjoyed the blend (female singers with a more low-key, plain singing style like Nina Persson, Susanna Hoffs, Gabrielle Aplin, Chrissie Hynde would probably suit my voice best). Also would be good to work with celloist, violinist, accordion or brass players. In a duo scenario, I see it as me on vocals and guitar/piano alongside a harmony singer who possibly also plays a folk or classical type instrument like accordion, cello or mandolin (see SoulJahm for reference). Otherwise, a more traditional band set-up in which case I'd be looking for a drummer, keyboardist and bass player.

At the moment, out of necessity, I create all the parts on my studio recordings so I would be looking for musicians who are happy to replicate those parts live but on any new recordings musicians would have free creative expression.

I'm looking to do something outside the industry, meaning I'm not looking for a record deal or to make connections within the industry, but to do it entirely DIY. Don't interpret that as lack of ambition or commitment, I've dedicated my whole adult life to Music but have so far been unable to find the right people to join me on this musical journey and build something of our own.

Maybe trying out some kind of collaboration online first to get to know each other would work?
