ABOUT

Progressive Rock Tribute band
Hi
Are You A Bass Player looking for an interesting music project.
I am the vocalist with Hants based Prog Rock Tribute Band, The Indigo Pilots. We recently lost our Bass player as he had problems at home. We have been rehearsing hard for a year and have a great two hour set ready with tracks from bands including YES, Genesis, Strawbs, Barcley James Harvest, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Hawkwind, Asia, Focus, Porcupine Tree, Rush, Marillion, It Bites etc.
We only recently received a gig for May 22nd this year at the Ashcroft Centre Fareham, and were in the process of sorting more when our Bass player decided to leave. We played at Staunton Live, last year, and have done one other acoustic gig so far, as a Prog Tribute. Prior to that the keys and I were in the original line up as a Classic Rock covers band with odd Prog tracks thrown in for fun, but with the addition of new members last year, decided to go the whole hog and become a Prog Rock Tribute.
We do have jobs so we are not looking to be the Next Big Thing. I am vocalist with the Bournemouth based Prog Rock Band, Big Big Train, www.bigbigtrain and our guitarist plays in the Prog Band Galahad. We will not be gigging five nights a week, but will be looking to get good gigs as and when we can, like the Ashcroft and Staunton gigs mentioned above, and also music pubs, clubs, and music venues that will appreciate the music we play. For smaller gigs, we have our own dedicated sound guy and a fairly decent sounding pa which sounds very sharp and clear. We don't set our instruments to number 11, tho we do rock out when necessary, YES's Roundabout, Hocus Pocus by Focus, Rush's Spirit Of Radio etc. Also with the Strawbs and BJH tracks we are more acoustic sounding with lush keys. We do try and get the songs as close to the originals as possible, but on some of the songs we have added certain parts ie endings etc to enhance the set.
I can send you a track or two of last years demo if you would like to hear what we do. Please contact me at
filkientlworld
We rehearse at the Dugout in Fareham at the moment which is central for all, but if you know anywhere better, and cheaper then the venue could change.
If this isn't your thing, no worries.
All the best to you in your music.
Sean
