I did want to be a rock star, really I did. But then all sorts of things happened, and now I'm sat here and I haven't done a gig in six years. It's time to change that! I'm a fast, straight-ahead punk-pop songwriter with an ear for a hook and hopefully some good lyrics - that bit's really gone off the boil, but I'm slowly getting back to it and I have enough old material I don't mind too much to fill a set for now.
I used to be in a few bands that never got anywhere at all. The last one I was in (until about six years ago, funnily enough) was called Aeris Presley, I was lead "singer" and played the bass, and we did two to three minute punk tunes, pretty simple but gleeful stuff. I'm basically looking to do the same thing, but the musicians have been scattered to the four winds so I think it's time to reset and try again.
I prefer operating in a three piece as any democratic decisions will always be made first time, but I wouldn't be averse to a four piece - the material doesn't really demand any more than three musicians though, so we wouldn't be losing anything. I NEED a drummer though - no compromise on that, no backing tracks, no drum machines, live drums only. I'm afraid as a bass player I don't see the point in playing without one.
Now frankly, the main motivation would be fun - I never made a fortune gigging, it's difficult to turn a profit from original punk music in Liverpool (or anywhere these days really), and I'm just after doing some more gigs to air my material again and maybe keep me out of mischief for a night or two. Plus there's a whole generation of my mates who've never got dragged along to one of my gigs - will YOU help me make their lives a misery?

Influences
That you can hear in the stuff I write: Billy Childish, Ramones, Buzzcocks, The Damned, Guitar Wolf, Graham Coxon, The Stooges, Wire, Sugar, These Animal Men, S*M*A*S*H, Shonen Knife.
That you can't hear but I like them a whole lot, so it probably shows through somewhere: Bowie, The B-52s, Suede, The Jesus Lizard, Nirvana, Iggy Pop, Luke Haines/Auteurs, Queens Of The Stone Age, Beck, The Stranglers, Blondie, Earl Brutus/The Pre New.
Oh, and the incidental and theme music from any given Gerry Anderson series. Well... Maybe not Four Feather Falls.
Non-musical: Godzilla, The Simpsons, pro-wrestling, cats, rats, offices, the Civil Service, Nintendo and PlayStation, Japan and America, the tiny annoyances of daily life, science!

EQUIPMENT
Fender P-Bass (Japanese? Mexican? One of the two, I forget which), with a Fender 200w bass amp that weighs as much as a wardrobe full of lead, plus Boss overdrive, synth and phaser pedals - if they still work. Also a Fender Telecaster Custom and another Fender amp for that. Fenders all round!
