I'm Ian.
I'm starting a new musical project / band and need help. I don't a clear vision of what it might sound like. I don't want to label it before it has even started, most good things evolve.
I've been on bands all my life. I am an experienced drummer but recently have been playing guitar and singing. I would probably handle the main vocal parts. I have a large quantity of original material some of which I have played in previous bands.
Previous incarnations of this band have been likened to THE PIXIES and THE VELVET UNDERGROUND. I love both these bands. I could list thousands of other influences, but I won't. I like unique and alternative sounding stuff and like to try and create interesting music. I do like ROCK AND ROLL / INDIE / GRUNGE / PUNK / PROG-ROCK / BUDDY HOLLY / and Charles Bukowski.
Ideally, it would be good to find a solid drummer and build from there but ANYBODY who feels interested please get in touch. Don't worry if you haven't been in a band before, experience is not essential. If you write songs great. If you play bass great. Synth wizards, Harp, anything! GET IN TOUCH.
LEAVE YOUR EGO BEHIND. It would be great to create some kind of SOCIALIST COLLABORATIVE so can't really be bothered with ridiculous lead guitar ego maniacs.
