ABOUT

Hey there future band mates

I’m looking to join a cover band with similar music tastes or a 1 man and his acoustic guitar to start off with, someone to do duets with or BVs.

I attended the ACM 20 yrs ago. I never wanted to be famous but I always said, one day I’d just like to be in a cover band singing in pubs. The ACM taught me a lot about training the vocals, my instrument and stage performance, I’ve just never used any of it. I never thought I had my own unique sounding voice but after an inspired night of recordings the other night, I realised I actually do have my own style.

I recorded 24 songs in 3 hours. They’re not the best quality, it’s in my cousins Kitchen that happened to have amazing acoustics! It’s also the 1st time in months since I’ve sung so bit rusty and untrained.

I’ve also smoked my whole life, I plan on quitting. It could have contributed to the nice change in tone but hasn’t done my power any good. Believe it or not I still have great breath control, I think my fitness training has contributed but I also believe my smoking has contributed to my freakishly great lung capacity in my triathlons!

With training I will be able to improve my pitch, power and control. I can harmonise but it’s not an off the top of the head gift, I need to practise those. Although I have a nack for easily harmonising to 90s rock bands like creed, Lifehouse, Bon Jovi and such bands

So... I know what I can and can’t sing/suits my voice. Here’s a list of some songs I enjoy doing. One music genre I really can’t stand and have never enjoyed singing to is 70s funk. I have no idea why, maybe I was killed on a dance floor in the 70s. So don’t ask me to sing Stevie wonder or car wash etc.
