Hello!
I'm an experienced bassist in my 40s with plenty of gigging/writing and performing under my belt.
I've had a diverse history with the bass, playing in metal, punk, covers, and blues bands over 30 years. I suppose most notably, I played with Bury St Edmunds punk band 'Volunteers' for several years, recording on quite a bit of their material and doing a bit of writing. (Check out Volunteers album 'Know Yourself' on Spotify).
Most recently I co-formed Hurricane Jim, the alternative rock band, which is now starting up again. (Have a look at the Hurricane Jim Bandcamp Page).
I also play drums and guitar to a very good standard and can write songs until the cows come home. (As well as music, I have an MA in creative writing and have recently written lyrics for customers on Fivver).
I am getting back Into 'live' music after a couple of years break to sort my career out. With that now done, I've got time to put serious effort into my own band, as well as another if something interesting turns up.
I'm open to hearing about anything really. Originals, covers, tributes..tbh I'm not exactly sure what I want to do, I've just got the bug to play again.
Please feel free to send a message if you have something that you think I might fit in with!
I've uploaded 4 Tracks.
*TV Dinner by Volunteers which I wrote and played bass on.
*I Don't See Black or White by Volunteers which I play bass on.
*Loaded Gun by Hurricane Jim which I co-wrote, and played Bass, drums, guitar and backing vocals on.
* You've Got Everything Money Can Buy by Volunteers. Me on bass..this is a killer to play so thought it'd highlight my chops.
(Hurricane Jim needs a drummer if anyone happens to see this).

Influences
I'm a big Electric Six fan, long term Motorhead fan, like 80s stuff to listen to a lot, including Oingo Boingo, and all the more mainstream 80s stuff. Basically 99% of what's on Greatest Hits radio is decent to me.
I also have a long history with Metal, but am drifting away from that a bit in terms of listening. However I would still be well up for playing metal in the right band. Metal wise, it's Slayer, White Zombie, the big four, Strapping Young Lad, The Wildhearts. Too many to mention really.
