I’m looking mainly for a drummer and a bassist. Probably want another guitarist and/or keys/synth/sampler guy to fill out the sound as well but I’m looking to get the core together first ideally. I would probably describe what I’m going for as in the “rock” category sort of. I like things that are spacey, trippy, ambient, psychedelic, glitchy etc, I like my guitars with lots of effects and I would love to incorporate electronic elements like synths/samplers maybe. I do want quite a carefully put together sound though. The details matter to me. When instruments come in, how the song builds, how the tones shift etc.
Been playing for a long time, mostly as a bassist. Lived in Florida from 2006-2020 so dont really know much about the music scene here. I have a bunch of songs written or half written and want to front a band as vocalist/guitarist and main songwriter, although am looking forward to collaborating with others and getting their influences/opinions. I’m sure it’ll only make things better. I’m not picky about how technical my band mates are really more that we gel, or that they understand my philosophy as far as how we write and perform and stuff. I want people who understand that smacking the drums as loud as you can isn’t always the best way to play them. Or that turning your amp up extremely loud will probably make for a bad mix and a bad live sound. People who understand that the whole is more important than their individual
part or showing off. I’m cool with people who are fairly new to the instrument. I don’t judge and I don’t need someone who can play acrobatic solos. I’m not looking for metal players. I’d call it experimental maybe I don’t know. Not trying to stick to any one genre or copy any other bands sound. EQUIPMENT
Gretsch guitar, blackstar tube amp, line 6 multi fx (I love this thing and I prefer it to having a bunch of pedals for various reasons but we can talk about that if you’re curious lol), Ibanez bass. I have ableton and studio monitors, headphones, machine, midi keyboard etc and am pretty comfy in ableton and could do a pretty decent job at recording and mixing but I’m definitely not a pro.
