ABOUT
I have played guitar (rhythm/lead - acoustic/electric) and 4 string bass (fretted and fretless) for over 35 years (Blues/Rock/Folk/Reggae styles) and began teaching in 1991. Since then I've taught Keyboards (61 note MIDI linked to a PC/Soft-Synth's) and Drums - I use a computer connected full 'digi-kit' and an 8 pad drum-machine for beginners.
Full song sheets, TAB, theory, lesson recording, backing CD's and other relevant help is available. All types and levels are welcome to study in a warm, friendly and conducive atmosphere (no interruptions).
Lessons can be tailor-made to suit your requirements. All you need is an instrument (one can be supplied at low cost and on a temporary basis) and enthusisam - a must in music!
Structured Jam-sessions are also available to those wishing to get the feel of playing in a full-band situation. These are held at local rehearsal studios and give musicians who are just starting out, an opportunity to meet other players and play full songs for 2-3 hours in a 'live' musical environment. These sessions are a great confidence booster too!
As part player, part sound engineer, I also offer quality recording (multitrack 24/32 bit to CD/MP3 etc) of my students work (covers or original material) for demo/fun purposes - complete with CD jewl-case artwork and on-disc artwork. This service is also available to solo/duo artists who wish to record their work for demo puposes etc.
I am on the East side of Birmingham (not far from BCFC) and is about 5 minutes by car from the town centre (I'm easy to get to).
