I am 24, played electric guitar from the age of 13 and moved to the bass. I love the instrument and play it all the time.
I am looking to get back into a band and get back into recording, writing, gigging and playing my bass with some other musicians.
The last band i was in stopped due to uni/work commitments. It gave me a big in sight into promoters, gigging in venues/pubs/clubs etc, ticket sale, marketing and generally pushing the name of the band and getting people interested in what we were doing.
I have some experience in setting up PA systems, lighting, worked on recording our own mini E.P which i took time to learn how to do as properly as i could on an amateur level.
We then gave this out at gigs we performed at such as Manc academy 3 and club, jabez clegg, guillvers and other various pubs and clubs around manchester.
I understand the commitment and hard work that goes on behind 'prying eyes'. I want music to be my 9-5 kinda job but at the same time i dont want to loose the fact its a hobby which i enjoy and i dont want to be so consumed that i loose the fire and enjoyment from it all.
I also have use of a small van so am able and willing to travel to gigs and practices or whatever.

Influences
My influences vary from harder rock to dance to rnb to jazz. I listen to all sorts of music, foos, biffy, queen, deep purple, metallica, bombay, TDCC, friendly fires, incubus, hendrix, led zeppelin, the who, john coultrane, MJ, the list is endless. I also love going to random gigs, showing support to other smaller bands that are just starting or on their way.
I dont have a favorite bassist i like, i enjoy listening and studying many, flea, nate mendel, john paul, peter hook, jaco all sorts.
EQUIPMENT
I own 2 bass guitars, my main bass is a black Ibanez GSR 200 22 fret bass and my first bass a Fender J/P bass copy called a Marlin.. its pretty poor but has a good tone to it after i took it apart and re-built it!
I also own 2 amps, a vintage Carlsbro Viper 100W 15" amp and an Ashdown MAG 300 evo 2 2x12" combo with a 1x15" deep cab..
I own a few pedals, an old multi fx pedal which was given to me, a couple of Boss pedals; overdrive and phase and the good old dunlop cry baby wah!!
I also have a Gibson SG copy in cherry red and an old spainish acoustic.
Along side this i own a few bits of recording pieces, cables/vocal mics etc, Sound capture card and software.
Im in the process of looking at electric drum kits.
