We are 2 musicians (guitarist & bassist) looking for a singer-songwriter, who would feel comfortable writing their own lyrics to instrumentals we wrote: https://soundcloud/thepaisleyunderground/sets/unresolved-business
In terms of sound, we are shooting for something bright and jangly, with lots of energy and swing - so ideally looking for a voice with enough character to respond to that.
To paint the picture with names, one could think of The Smiths, The La's, T Rex, Phil Spector's big production numbers (Ronettes, Ben E King), Bo Diddley, 50's girl groups, The Beatles, The Bangles, Blondie, Ariel Pink, Alex Chilton, Link Wray, Donnie & Emerson, Elvis, Aztec Camera, Felt, etc.
In terms of profile, we are aged 29-34 and based in North/West London, so looking for someone around that ideally- most importantly though, we're looking the right person who'd feel at ease responding to these instrumentals, and working around them.
