Jonny started playing and writing music at the age of thirteen on the piano. After discovering the music of Django Reinhardt and Tony Murena, he got his first accordion at 17 and began to play improvised swing and french musette music. He spent his childhood around music, with his parents playing in the family country and western band which toured with Chet Atkins. His mother played bass and sung and his father played the violin and pedal steel guitar. His great Granddad was also an accordionist, and his grandparents played in the salvation army, while his gran was a concert pianist. Jonny currently plays with his two brothers in a swing/jazz band, CAFÉ MANOUCHE and, since the age of 16, has played hundreds of gigs around the UK.
