ABOUT

Hi, my name is Jose Torres and I have moved from my home - the Spanish capital, Madrid, to Southampton.
I was born with a sense of rhythm and a huge love for music. My first musical encounters with were keyboards and synthesizers, which sprang up a great passion in me for classical electronic music, such as that of the great masters Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kitaro, etc ... and soundtracks.

But I always had the need to express myself musically in another way. Without realizing it, I was always setting the pace with my hands and feet, hitting the table, my legs, the floor... the rhythm kept coming out!

I put aside keyboards to take the drums seriously. I started to study to have a good foundation; among my professors were Juan Tarodo and Pepe Sánchez. I dedicated five years to the study of percussions and drums. I continued self-taught, master classes and clinics with other famous drummers, Jose Bruno, Jorge Perez(Patax) amongst others.

More than 15 years of experience playing with different formations and study collaborations, I built up my experience in different groups and styles; Latin, soul, metal, blues and funky. My favorite style is rock & roll and rockabilly and I feel very comfortable in funk.
