Grew up listening to a lot of post-punk, alternative and grunge then elements of funk/soul as I progressed on bass. These days I'm big on a lot of contemporary indie that takes elements from shoegaze, prog and grunge, as well as heavier more punk influenced stuff like Oh Sees and Idles and finally I'll never get enough of classics like Neil Young, John Martyn and Jeff Buckley. Looking to get into a project with musicians that aren't too hung up on playing crowd pleasers but would rather play stuff that's interesting to them - people who can mix things up stylistically and relish swapping ideas and tracks rather than boxing themselves into a narrow bracket. For me its all about finding the right balance and enjoying playing the music - if it works and it doesn't either sound like sh*t or like 90 per cent of the other buggers out there then start gigging!
