My wife and I are rockers who session for each other's bands. We are looking for the following for 2 bands- members who would be keen for both bands would be ideal!
FAET: Bass guitar, rhythm/ lead guitar
Sons of Shem: Drums, lead guitar and DJ or electronic guru
We are starting try outs soon for session committed and professional musicians who want to grow their music careers but not have to do all the business side of the band.
Both bands are on social but contact me at brandonkayat.
I have a vast experience in music in South Africa from teaching students, performing, event managements (see Durban Tributes Fest), recording and producing (minimal experience) and even basic PR and marketing (primarily social media). I have played for many bands in the past including Sons of Shem and FAET (which I am currently members of both) as well as Saturn Return, Skin Walker and Hawema among others. I successfully performed in the tributes of System of a Down (bass and frontman), Red Hot Chilli Peppers (bass, rhythm guitar and frontman) and Tenacious D (frontman). I am best known in South Africa for my abilities as a frontman, bassist and drummer.
I have a wide range of genres I enjoy but particularly have been working with raprock, punk, indie, alternative rock, funk, metal, hip hop and grunge although I am not limited to these. I enjoy the challenge of pushing myself if I find something I am not used to. I am an independent and driven musician who aims to never make the same mistake twice, practices independently and brings energy to the stage.
I will be back in Wales in September on a tourist Visa although I am happy to start workshopping songs in the meantime. I will be working part-time when I arrive there. I am leaving weekends and most evenings available for gigs/ practice. I will only have to come back to SA for just over one month at some point. I am looking to play as many gigs in that time as possible.
