Hello! I'm Leila, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue doesn't just apply to getting married... this is how I want to write music with you. I am named after the Clapton tune but my mum wanted a different spelling.

I write great melodies and great lyrics. I went to the BRIT School, same year as Amy Winehouse and I've taught dance at performing arts theatre schools and colleges for the whole of my adult life.

I took my career in a different direction recently. Been in bands, played all over London. Music is in my heart, when I was little I used to come down stairs late at night to dance in the living room when my mums band were rehearsing, it was nice groovy melodic rock with harmonies and an edge, dad used to play the Stones, Clapton, Marley, John Mayall amongst others.

I love gospel and old rare soul when they recorded in to one mic and it sounded slightly out of tune, somewhere off the blue note, I love layered gospel harmonies. I also love dub and disco.

I listen to 6 music and like a range of styles, my voice and my writing fit a range of styles and I like people who appreciate both sides of the coin, for example acid house and blues, although, I would never mix the two because I prefer to keep it quite classic.

Let's face it, bands develop their own style as they work together, individual essence and chemistry merge. I also love to laugh and appreciate a good sense of humour when working together.

I can write something immediately, improving on the spot to something you are playing, I love to do this, it is when we invoke magic. It would be cool if I could sing something and you could do the same...
