I am a musician/songwriter looking for enthusiastic musicians to form a band and play the songs I have written.
I have dozens of songs demoed and would like to start performing them, with an eye to doing some touring and recording as a group for release. On the demos I play all the instruments, but am looking for others to expand on this and bring their own styles to the songs.
I have lots and lots of experience playing in bands around the midlands and have done support gigs for touring acts with my previous group, although I have been away from the local music scene for several years.
The songs are generally simply structured and folk-adjacent, and the kind of sound I am hoping to achieve would be similar to The Band, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens, with a focus on a powerful acoustic sound enhanced with minimal electrified instruments. Meaning I am looking mainly for singers, acoustic players, particularly accordian, piano, guitars, strings, drums and percussion. But also electric guitar (slide would be great) and bass also. But please don’t be limited by this list, I love large eclectic groups such as War, Santana, Mothers of Invention, so most instruments are going to be welcome!
I mainly play guitar in it’s various forms, piano, and sing. However, I would be perfectly happy for someone else to front and sing the songs as my vocal range is very limited.
To perform I am hoping to bring together at least, a guitarist, drummer/percussionist/ keys player, bass player and myself most likely on another guitar. Ideally we would rehearse once a week initially but if things worked out well I would be open to increasing the frequency if needed.
