I'm looking to set up a collective of musical outcasts with an east meets west flavour - maybe a rock-jazz-folk-soul-blues-funk-rembetika-klezmer-asian-world-roots fusion. I'm a big fan of rembetika and klezmer, as well as blues, rock, punk and jazz. Aside from the listed instruments, I also play bouzouki (greek) and the bodhran. I love the clarinet, fiddle, accordian, flute, baglama, oud, marimba, congas and dhol drum.
Old and young, cool and uncool, committed and not so committed are most welcome... singers from the heart would be great, and if you play some exotic or just plain weird instrument, then that'd be a bonus.
About me... I've played in a few bands over the years - punk (late 70s), blues, soul, classic RnB (80s), done a bit of impromptu jamming with ceilidh and jazz musicians, and the last band I was in was around 2003-2005 (a reasonably bizarre rock band).
