Mary Mina is a self-produced artist from Bristol, captivating audiences with her distinctive style and sound Formerly known as Mary in the Mirror, she collaborated with Sirreal from the Freestylers, a creative partnership that led to a successful Arts Council grant and the invaluable opportunity to study with Grammy Award-winning producer Mike Mangini. Her talent and determination took her to New York City in 2023 to perform at a prestigious showcase, connecting with top industry professionals and expanding her international audience.
Mary's music is a rich tapestry woven from her diverse influences, seamlessly blending vintage soul-jazz vocals with elements of hip-hop, trip-hop, house, drum & bass & electronica. Since moving to Bristol, she has become a well known figure in the city's vibrant music community. A familiar voice on Ujima Radio, Bristol's award-winning community station, Mary has hosted a show for over a year, sharing her passion for music with a dedicated audience. Her performances have lit up many of Bristol's iconic events, such as Brisfest, Ashton Court festival, and St Pauls Carnival, and major festival stages, including Arcadia at Glastonbury.
Her latest single, "Everything You Need," is a testament to her deep connection to music as a source of healing. Inspired by her personal journey through grief after the loss of her parents, the song was first performed at the Bristol Harbour Festival's Rising Talent stage in 2024. Her music embodies her resilience, creativity, and passion for soulful storytelling.
