Band to Join.ABOUT
A beginner guitar player with 4-5 years of experience, for 3 of those years I’ve been learning slide guitar, which I really enjoy. I’m cap able of playing both acoustic and electric but I have to admit I have more experience with acoustic. Although, I’ve written songs on electric. I mainly sing and play my own stuff, but I have learnt other artists songs along the way and grained a variety of different techniques and influences.
Vocal wise I’m okay, nothing special. There’s lots to work on but it’s a good starting point, depending on what I’m singing. I would say folk and country probably suit my voice best, because there’s a bit of leeway for imperfection. I have quite a low voice, I don’t really sing a lot of high notes. Saying that I’ve learnt Jolene by Dolly Parton (and we all know she has a high voice). I sang that in my own way, and had a few compliments from family and and friends when they’ve overheard it, I guess it’s adaptable.
I think the important thing (before I do my influences) is that I’m not restricted to one genre completely, but do prefer to play folk, blues, slide and fingerpicking.
