Maxrebo formed from the ashes of Picturebox in 1998. From 98-01 they played at a number of various venues including The Coffee House in St. Pancras London. Being a Whitstable based band they performed at The Whitstable Regatta on 3 occasions and made regular appearances at Sherin's nightclub at the top of the old Bear n Key pub in Whitstable high street. In 2000 they won the Battle of the Bands at The Leas Cliff Hall Folkestone. In 2001 the band disbanded and did not play again till 2007, when the band performed a number of old favourites at James, the Bass players' 30th birthday bash. In March 2011 the band got back together again this time armed with a brand new batch of songs which were aired at St. Mary's Hall Whitstable. Maxrebo's current set list contains all original songs written over the last couple of years by brothers Stuart and James Dane. Musical styles vary from Classic Rock to Acoustic to Blues. All members of the band share a love of these musical genres. The band is aiming to again air their new songs and play some more gigs this year.
