I took up bass aged 17, and played in 2 local "good quality" amateur hard rock bands, playing a mixture of original material (which I co-wrote with the lead guitarist) and hard rock / heavy metal classics, for about 5 years. The career (in accountancy) then took over, and my musical dabblings were then restricted to being a solitary bedroom musician. Marriage, parenthood etc followed. I am now the owner of my own business that doesn't demand all my time, and the kids are all but grown up, and the wife is fed up with me being at home so much, so looking to get back into playing in a band for fun, with the occasional gig (maybe once or twice a month). I'm a little bit rusty on the bass - my preferred instrument for playing in a band, but have been learning acoustic guitar - so it's not like I have forgotten it all, and my playing will improve once I'm in a band setting.

Ibanez Iceman Active Bass. Currently using only a Roland Micro Cube at home, but no problem to purchase the right equipment for the job, when needed.
