I'm a creative person (a singer who writes songs), looking for a new musical out let.
I am looking to either join a band or to find and form a group of like minded people who play instruments, to collaborate, create music, develop, jam and possibly gig, record.
I have sang at open mic nights. I was also a singer in a soul band that did some gigs for a few months in 2007/2008 before I moved to Paris for a bit. My skills on guitar and piano are fairly basic; enough to help me write songs but I would love to meet more experienced musicians who could develop these (as well as perhaps songs of their own).
If you are looking to share ideas and create some original stuff then please get in touch. Could also do a few covers but it'd be nice to develop our own music.
I'm hoping to get some recordings up on a Myspace page soon (myspace/missminamo)but if you email I can send basic recordings of my voice. I am happy to meet up with people looking to join a band.
I've put influences down but really there are so many! I’m open to a range of genres: Mainly acoustic, soul, funk, electro and a bit of world would be lovely. Not really in to much heavy metal, heavy rock. Though I like my Foofighters (I guess they would be classed as tame though!)
I work as a supply teacher at the moment but have a fair amount of free time at present and would be committed to regular practice.
