Played in a metal band around Edinburgh in the 90s and in a novelty band with friends in the early 2000s then let it all lapse while the kids grew up. Got back into playing in the last 18 months and starting to get the skills back. Reformed most of our 90s metal band with a new drummer but we only practice once a month so I have time to jam with others or maybe play a gig or two.

Influences
Although it was Knopfler that made me pick up a guitar as a teenager, my main influences are much more classic 70s and 80s rock and metal: Richie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Vivian Campbell, Eddie Clark, Adrian Smith & Dave Murray, Glenn Tipton etc. I'll take a heartfelt bend over a sweep-picked arpeggio any day.
