Hi there
How’s life treating you ? hope all is good ! Well, lets start off, my name’s Noel, I live in Windsor (although soon to move to the next stop along on the train line in Datchet) I play guitar and have played previously in a psych funk band called the molten funk tornadoes, and I’m a bit of a Spiderman fan. I left the band when I moved to Windsor a year ago, but I’m writing to you because I’ve recently arrived at the idea that I think a great gig would be an electric cover band of all the incidental music from the 60s spiderman cartoon show, and to be honest I don’t really know any Musicians locally to me, so I’m reaching out to see if you would be interested in pursuing this idea ? I’m not after a mega commitment or aiming to do a hardcore amount of gigs or become an established wedding band etc, but something light, , non stress, fun, and hopefully do a few gigs now and then, would you be interested ?
The themes from the spiderman cartoon usually only last 45 secs, but I imagine stretching them out into 5 min wig outs with a bit of jamming, the tunes on this show were AMAZING and I see a lot of potential for turning these into a full fleshed out set, some really broody jazzy moody numbers here ! there was a local band that did this idea already in Canada about 10 years ago that is really good, the amazing spider-band, have a listen here, they’re great !

After having this idea I looked all this up on the net and didn’t realize there was so much love for this music, there’s web pages about people trying to find the original master tapes to re release on cd, but can’t find it anywhere ! It’s like some holy grail to a lot of people ! So yeah, thanks for reading this, if you’re interested, like the music, like the idea of doing a heavy jazz psychedelic rock of this music for fun (and who knows, maybe we’ll start doing our own stuff after this, but as a starting point I think it’s a great place) and are up for jamming out over some superhero music, let me know, hopefully we can have a drink one night and discuss the idea further.
