SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Piano.ABOUT
I play drums and also do backing/harmony vocals.
I'm looking to join a band who want not just to jam for fun but also to play a few gigs. I'm not looking to make a career of this, the main aim is to have a good time, I just want to play live. What I can offer is a willingness to put the effort into getting things right; I'm a pretty easy going personality and prefer to look for a compromise rather than have a blazing row.
In terms of my musical ability I'd describe myself as moderate/intermediate. I can lay down a good steady beat but I'm not flash!
I played drums in a band as a teenager, then after a very long layoff started playing again about 10 years ago. I've been taking regular tuition for 5 years so I still like to learn.
I played in a covers band for a couple of years until this summer when we split over the inevitable 'musical differences'! See this link to a YouTube clip of one of our pub gigs https://www.youtube/watch?v=otU4NRjfg90 The camera's operated by the singer's girlfriend so the rest of the band get short shrift!
I'm not on a particular musical mission so I'm not too precious about musical genre - like I say for me the main thing is to play - though I'd draw the line well short of joining a Black Lace tribute band!!

Influences
I was a teenager during the 60s Blues boom so that's where my heart is. It was all Cream, Hendrix, Peter Green, & Led Zep; through to the usual classic rock bands - Bad Company, Who, Pink Floyd. However I've got pretty catholic tastes in anything from 70s Punk/New Wave, to country rock, to 90s Nirvana/Foo Fighters/Royal Blood.
EQUIPMENT
I have a pretty good Mapex Meridian 5 piece Drum Kit, DW Collectors Steel Snare, with mainly Paiste Signature Cymbals (x6 in all), plus a few extras like double bass drum pedal. Have hatchbach - will travel!!
