Left my band in early June 2024 after 5 years with them,
too many last minute cancelled rehearsals, people being constantly late or always having to leave early that have cost us the chance to play gigs we’ve been offered , as the band is not prepared.
I need a bit more than that from a band
My main problem is, I don’t drive so transport to rehearsals etc is an issue for me. I was really fortunate that my last bands singer lives near me and gave me a lift to rehearsals at Berkeley on Thursdays.
So anyways, here my ad…..

You can hear songs I’ve played on , in various bands over the last 30 odd years on my soundcloud page. Experience of playing live pretty much every venue in Glasgow and a few in London
Had some success in late 90’s early 00’s, My band was played by Steve Lamacq on radio One on a few Wednesday evenings, and had some record company interest, didn’t quite make it to the heights of fame though. I left the band for personal reasons.
I’m more of a “song” guitarist, definitely not a shredder, I like to get a good hook or lead part on a song, less is more most of the time, but I can let rip a bit if it’s called for, don’t mind sharing lead duties with a second guitarist
I've Played in a few bands over the years, self taught by playing along to records since I was 13, never had a guitar lesson, I can pick up new songs pretty quick by ear
All the bands I've played in have done original material, so i'd be looking for something along those lines.
A drummer who plays the kit like an instrument, not just something to keep time on.
Musicians, drums , bass, rhythm guitar, vocals, keys maybe, who can improvise,
If we’re in a rehearsal and find a good beat, guitar riff, bass line, people who can get into that and just run with it and see where takes us…..
Would consider something a bit different, I like bluesy rock but also like spaced out trippy ambient sounds and loud raw stuff , The Who The Verve, Primal Scream, Oasis……… from bluesy to Noisy and back again , pretty much open to anything along those lines. No Metal , heaviest I get is early Led Zeppelin
Quit playing in bands around 2010, but eventually got back into after a break.
I’m 54 now, almost back to full fitness after becoming really ill during the pandemic, but I’m good to go and getting fitter by the day.
I’m pretty easy going , no big egos please, and very committed if I find the right band or people.
I really am open to anything, with the right type of musicians and personalities.
