I am a drummer and drum teacher who has been in around 30 bands and played well over a hundred gigs. I prioritise groove and feel above flash but quite enjoy both......the most important role for a drummer is to make the band sound good, I tend to save the technically challenging stuff for personal practice and the very occasional drum solo!
I have primarily been a heavy rock and funk drummer but have played in bands ranging from dinnertime jazz, shoegazy/indie, drum and bass, metal and trip hop.
I’ve been told I’m versatile, very loud, very quiet, sensitive, jazzy, rocky. I can read music, I can improvise, can do as I’m told or come up with ideas when required.
