ABOUT
I started to play bass as a teenager. The inspiration came from my next door neighbour! She was a bit older than me, and one night I heard this bass line through the party wall. It was amazing. I heard it a few times before I plucked up the courage to ask her what she was playing. My inspirational track turned out to be Aston Family Man Barrett playing Stir It Up from the Wailers Catch A Fire album. My big brother lent me some £ and I bought a fender copy bass. I couldn’t afford the Jazz that Family Man was playing :-) I learnt this bass line and never looked back. Never had any desire to play 6 strings, was always about the bass.
I could reel off dozens of influences, but that would fill a book.
I’d love to play in a band tributing Small Faces, Sweet, Roxy Music, Wailers, David Bowie or a generic 70s/80s disco funk band, or a glam rock band, or a Motown band, or a Mod Soul Ska band, or…..
